Company Social Marketing

Is your company Social Marketing?
Now you’re probably asking yourself, what is social marketing?
Social Marketing is a form of communication to reach current and potential clients through Social platforms.
Also referred to as your company’s online identity.

In today’s society there are three ways to communicate with your clients: verbally, in written form and via social media. Like smartphones which a decade ago didn’t exist, social media is now part of all our lives. By social media I’m talking about your digital identity, your presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube, Vimeo, your own website, etc..

Each one represents yet another way for you to reach your clients. You can’t afford not be engaged in social media. Without it, you risk being seen as out of touch. It is critical that everything you post is a positive reflection of both you and your company.

Maybe it’s just that learning and adapting to a new technology is frightening. But whether you like social media or not, you need to get on board. It’s not a replacement for traditional forms of communication. Social media simply gives you more opportunities to connect with your clients, think of it as just another way to successfully engage with your audience in a new and very creative ways.

Television changed radio, cable changed network television, etc.. Radio didn’t go away, it morphed into something different. Same with network and cable TV when the internet gained widespread usage. Similarly, making a new friend on Facebook isn’t like making a friend in real life, but that new friend has the ability to move from just a Facebook friend to a new client. Texting isn’t the same as a phone call, but it can help streamline the process of scheduling one and connecting with someone on LinkedIn is no substitute for a face to face meeting when you sign a new client, but it can lead to that.

That’s the power and beauty of social media. It opens doors to new clients and networks. It is now needed  in order to move your career and/or company forward. How we use them and which ones are most appropriate for what you’re marketing is something you need to decide for yourself based on your particular audience’s needs.

Now you’re probably thinking, alright I need to get on board with social media but how do I do that? Well first you have to figure out.
