How does ransomware differ from other viruses?

Put simply, phishing attacks are often created by an individual, usually disguised as a legitimate email/phone call, and deployed to steal information from your users. Ransomware, on the other hand, is a program that locks users’ files and demands payment from the victim in return for a key to regain access.
